Welcome back to the DNA of TNA, for July 11. There is so much to talk about this week. This article will focus on TNA Impact only. But a special ranking of the NXT stuff will be happening as a video, right here on Game Breakers Sports Network YouTube channel. Subscribe if you haven’t there is a lot more coming.
5. Who is the #1 Contender?
X-Division #1 Contendership! Speedball vs Kushida vs Gresham. After a contest that shows three of the best in this era of the X-Division. Speedball picks up the victory. Trent Seven his tag partner comes out for the celebration only to be interrupted by the security of Mustafa Ali and Campaign Singh and security takes him out. What a build-up to what will be a great match at Slammiversary for the Championship.
4. The Battle of Letters
JDC vs Chris Bey. JDC “Dango” is a good worker. He doesn’t really get the credit for that and his character work has improved since his debut in TNA. Of course, he is the Dirtiest Dango, and with the help of the TNA Tag Champions (Edwards and Meyers) and his Down and Dirty leg drop he beat Bey. After the match, the System and JDC beat down ABC.
3. PCO and SDL: The Weirdest Love Story
We got a video package with SDL on the beach. She was sending another love letter to PCO. And how she knows what love is and has to go back to Australia to get rid of past loves. It closes with her speaking in French and asking if PCO will wait for her. Say what you will about this storyline it is intriguing. This video package was good. This is something TNA has done well in the past and it seems to continue. This was well done.
2. Jordynne Grace Open Challenge
Nxt’s Izzi Dame answered the open call. I didn’t realize how tall Izzi was. Grace made her look like a million bucks in this match. It was a good match. Grace wins and looks strong against Dame. With Grace heading to face Ash at Slammiversary, this was a very good warm up match for her.
1. Moose and Maclin vs Alexander and Hendry
Kaz with the distraction causes Moose to throw Alexander into Hendry and Maclin delivers his finisher and pins Alexander. The champ and Hendry are protected by the outcome. Which means Hendry could win. Moose and Maclin both grab the title and stand face to face. With the pinfall this week Maclin is the DNA of TNA!
