Hey, I’m here today to talk about my favorite wrestlers. This is the first of a 3 part series. Where in my next 2 articles will be about my favorite storylines and my Mount Rushmore. So let’s get it started.
1. Randy Orton
In my opinion, Randy Orton is the GOAT wrestler. Been doing it constantly for over 20 years, still puts on great matches, and is the only full time guy from the OVW ‘02 class. He’s one of the few things I like in WWE. I’ll watch any segments or matches he’s in because he’s my GOAT.
2. MJF
The best heel in the business currently, Love his American hero gimmick, done very well. When I first tuned into AEW, he caught my eye as an asshole but he reeled me in. Then his feud with Punk, the best AEW ever, from top to bottom it was excellent. Never a dull moment with the feud and the ending with the Dog Collar match was amazing and a nice ending. Was hoping they would run it back when Punk was on Collision calling himself the “Real World Champion” but Punk did Punk things.
3. CM Punk
Speaking of CM Punk, he’s number 3 on my list. He got me fully back into wrestling in 2021 when he debuted on Rampage for AEW. From there he was on a roll. Well, for a while, then he got suspended and was away for a while. Then he came back for like 2 months and got fired for a good amount of reasons. But regardless of that, I’m still a fan, when he returned back to WWE I marked out. Hopefully, he doesn’t mess it up this time around
4. Ricky Starks
“Absolute” Ricky Starks is a fantastic wrestler. From his team Taz days, to his feud with Will Hobbs, to winning the Owen Hart Cup, to tag champs with Big Bill. If you were to ask me who would I choose to build my promotion around, I would pick Ricky Starks as my first pick. Like most of the AEW roster, he suffered from a lot of starts and stops. But he made a lot of opportunities there in AEW. So whatever he decides to do, I wanna see him back on my TV soon.
5. Jade Cargill
From teaming with Shaq, to forming the baddies, to going 62-2, to now being in WWE. Every segment, match, promo, I’m tuned in‼️ She’s still kinda green but the ceiling is higher for someone who only started wrestling 3 years. But I’m her #1 fan and she could do no wrong in my eyes.
6. Michael Oku
Very new to him but I think he’s a fantastic wrestler. Only seen 2 of his matches but from what I’ve seen he’s great.
7. Bobby Lashley
Former ECW champion, WWE champion, etc. Bobby has been dominant everywhere he’s been, from MMA to TNA to WWE 2 times over. What really got me tuned in was his TNA run with the Beat Down Clan, amazing work at that time. Now he’s no longer in WWE, so let’s see what’s next for the guy.
8. Mariah May
Didn’t know much about her pre-AEW run so can’t speak on that. But she’s impressed me ever since her debut I’ve been impressed with everything. By the time this article comes out, I hope she’s the AEW Women’s Champion
9. Cody Rhodes
The current, reigning, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Man, I’ve been on the ride with him since his dashing days to his current run. Didn’t catch much of his Indy run and his AEW run because I fell out of wrestling, but going off of clips, man it was amazing. Now he is on top of the world, winning the title his dad never won, and defending his title every PLE.
10. Roman Reigns
Now on to the man who Cody beat. Alot of “Roman Stans” are just now coming around, but wasn’t there during the suffering suckatash days like I was. Him getting chance after chance until it hit in 2020. That heel turn and getting paired with Paul Heyman is what he needed because before that it just wasn’t clicking. In my opinion, he should’ve turned heel after he beat the Undertaker. The Tribal Chief gimmick would’ve been perfect then.
11. Carmelo Hayes
He’s one of the fastest growing stars on Smackdown. He’s really H1M and I can see in 5 years him being a World Champion. But right now, he’s your future United States Champion.
Well, that’s the end of the wrestlers I like currently. There are some wrestlers on the indies that I follow such as Calvin Tankman, Alec Price, Maya World, Jada Stone, and Joe Alonzo. I think all those wrestlers will be in a major company in the next couple of years.
Thank you for reading my article.
