The final Mayhem before AEW: Final Stand promised one thing from the opening video package—every score would be settled on Sunday.
Toni Storm Opens Mayhem
AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm opened the show inside the ring.
Storm admitted she could feel the pressure of carrying the division into Final Stand, but said champions aren’t remembered for easy nights—they’re remembered for surviving the impossible.
Before she could continue, Jamie Hayter interrupted.
Hayter said Toni has been one of AEW’s greatest champions, but Sunday belongs to her.
Their respectful confrontation was quickly interrupted by Mercedes Moné, who reminded everyone she’ll become the next challenger after winning Sunday’s No. 1 Contender Match.
Then came Athena, claiming she’s the most dangerous woman in wrestling.
Finally, Hikaru Shida made her entrance, saying she’s already proven she can carry this division.
The verbal confrontation exploded into chaos as all six women began throwing punches.
Officials emptied onto the stage trying to restore order.
Tony Schiavone announced that tonight’s main event would now be:
Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander vs. Mercedes Moné, Athena & Hikaru Shida.
Alex Windsor Calls Out Marina Shafir
Alex Windsor made her way to the ring after her shocking return last week.
She said Marina Shafir has spent months bullying anyone she could find, but Sunday she’s finally picked someone willing to fight back.
Marina wasted no time answering.
The two stood face-to-face before agreeing to settle everything one-on-one at Final Stand.
A tense staredown ended without either woman throwing the first punch.
Eddie Kingston def. Lee Moriarty
Lee Moriarty frustrated Kingston with his technical wrestling early, but Eddie’s relentless aggression eventually overwhelmed him.
A spinning Backfist to the Future earned Kingston the victory.
After the match, Shane Taylor appeared on the stage, applauding sarcastically.
Shane Taylor def. Ortiz
Taylor looked dominant throughout, using his overwhelming strength to wear Ortiz down before finishing him with the Welcome to the Land.
Following the match, Eddie Kingston stormed toward the ring.
Security separated the longtime rivals before another fight could erupt.
Their match was made official for Final Stand.
New Day & Young Bucks Meet Face-to-Face
The AEW World Tag Team Champions, The New Day, came to the ring.
Kofi Kingston said every generation claims they’re the greatest tag team ever, but championships don’t lie.
The Young Bucks interrupted.
Matthew Jackson laughed, saying New Day may have conquered WWE, but AEW is their house.
Nick Jackson reminded everyone that no team has defined AEW more than the Bucks.
The exchange remained verbal until both teams stepped nose-to-nose with the Tag Team Championships between them.
No punches were thrown.
Sunday couldn’t come soon enough.
Billie Starkz & Zayda Steel def. Mina Shirakawa & Harley Cameron – Street Fight
Weapons covered ringside as all four women embraced the chaos.
Harley crashed through a table after Athena secretly interfered behind the referee’s back.
Billie capitalized with a Swanton Bomb through a pile of chairs to steal the victory.
Afterward, Mina checked on Harley while Billie and Zayda celebrated their brutal win.
Claudio Castagnoli & PAC def. Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong
Claudio and PAC controlled much of the match through ruthless teamwork.
Orange nearly stole the victory after an Orange Punch to PAC, but Claudio blasted Cassidy with a devastating Uppercut before PAC finished things with the Brutalizer.
Kenny Omega & Cope def. Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin & Brodido – Triple Threat Tag Team Match
The highly anticipated showdown featured three elite teams.
Bandido thrilled the crowd with incredible aerial offense while Brody King punished everyone in sight.
The Hurt Syndicate looked poised to win after Lashley Speared Omega, but Cope broke up the pin.
Moments later Omega connected with the One Winged Angel on Shelton Benjamin while Brody King and Bandido brawled on the floor, allowing Omega to score the victory.
After the match, Lashley and Shelton assaulted Omega and Cope until Brody King and Bandido returned to even the odds.
The six men fought all over ringside before security restored order.
Jack Perry, Jay White & The Gunns def. David Finlay, Juice Robinson, Drilla Maloney & Gabe Kidd
The Bullet Club rivalry exploded into an eight-man war.
Jay White and David Finlay repeatedly reignited their personal rivalry while Jack Perry and Gabe Kidd exchanged stiff strikes.
The finish came when Perry hit the Running Knee on Drilla Maloney before scoring the pin.
Following the match, Finlay blasted Perry with the International Championship before escaping through the crowd holding the title high.
Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander def. Mercedes Moné, Athena & Hikaru Shida
The six women delivered one of the best matches of the year.
Every participant had moments to shine as the action broke down repeatedly.
Late in the contest, Mercedes accidentally struck Athena during a chaotic exchange, allowing Kris Statlander to launch Athena into Toni Storm.
Storm capitalized with Storm Zero to pin Athena.
After the match, Toni and Jamie shared another respectful stare as the Women’s Championship was held between them.
Neither woman blinked.
Final Confrontation – Swerve Strickland & Jon Moxley
As the show entered its final minutes, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland entered the ring.
He said Sunday isn’t about proving who’s tougher.
It’s about proving who’s worthy of carrying AEW into the future.
Jon Moxley emerged through the crowd.
Moxley told Swerve he’s had a great reign, but every champion eventually runs into someone willing to drag them into hell.
Swerve smiled.
“I already live there.”
The two men immediately exploded into a violent brawl.
Officials, referees, security, and nearly the entire AEW locker room emptied to separate them, but neither man would stop fighting.
Swerve finally broke free, sprinted across the ring, and leveled Moxley with a thunderous House Call.
The champion picked up the AEW World Championship and stood over Moxley as the crowd erupted.
Holding the title high above his head, Swerve stared directly into the camera.
“See you Sunday.”
AEW Mayhem faded to black with the AEW World Champion standing tall heading into AEW: Final Stand.
