The State of Wrestling (Jan–March 2026): My Perspective
January 2026 – Reset, Reflection, and Rising Stakes
January always feels like a proving ground in wrestling, but this year it hit differently. It felt like everyone was positioning themselves not just for WrestleMania—but for legacy.
Wrestler of the Month: Oba Femi
Tag Team of the Month: Darkstate
PLE/PPV of the Month: Royal Rumble
Match of the Month: Drew vs Cody 3 stages of hell
My Thoughts:
January made one thing clear: The direction both companies are going is interesting to start the year. But we gotta see how it shapes out.
February 2026 – Momentum and Tension
February felt like a pressure cooker. Feuds got personal, alliances started cracking, and you could see WrestleMania taking shape.
Wrestler of the Month: Randy Orton
Tag Team of the Month: The Hardys
PLE/PPV of the Month: N/A
Match of the Month: Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita – Grandslam
My Thoughts:
February felt like a meh month. Before anyone says anything, I don’t watch all these flippy dippy Indies, I only watch the big 3. So filling out this month was kinda hard
March 2026 – The Road to WrestleMania
March is where everything locks in. No more testing—just execution.
Wrestler of the Month: Kevin Knight
Tag Team of the Month: FTR
PLE/PPV of the Month: AEW Revolution
Match of the Month: Both Konosuke Takeshita vs Jon Moxley Matches
My Thoughts:
Besides the outlaw indy mudshow main event, AEW always delivers during PPVs.
The biggest headline: Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi is confirmed for WrestleMania.
That’s not just a match—that’s a statement. It’s old-school dominance vs new-era power. If booked right, that could be a passing-of-the-torch moment.
And then there’s Cody.
Him winning back the WWE Championship was inevitable—and honestly, necessary. His story isn’t just about winning anymore. It’s about proving he belongs as the face of the company.
Randy Orton turning heel was necessary. WWE needed that unpredictable edge again, and he delivered. It added depth to the roster instantly.
But then there’s the Ricochet situation.
Ricochet should’ve never said what he said, period. This is why you have to not respond sometimes, it leads to situations like this especially now that your job is on the line.
The Bigger Picture
Gunther’s Booking Problem
After beating legends, Gunther should feel untouchable. Instead, he feels like he’s waiting for direction. WWE has to fix that fast, or they risk cooling off one of their most credible stars.
The State of the Indies
The independent scene feels like it’s rebuilding—but also evolving. There’s less chaos and more structure now. Talent is sharper, but the spotlight isn’t as bright as it used to be. Still, this is where hunger lives.
WWE ID Program
Firstly, Zayda Steele. I’m glad you’re speaking about your experience. But as a community, we gotta remember that her experience is different from everyone else’s.
Now they’ve made a couple of signings, one is Starboy Charlie. Who recently won the WWE ID Men’s Title
Let’s see how they all work out, but this usually leads to a spot on Evolve and NXT.
My Personal Update:
Right now, I’m locked in.
I see y’all doing your thing, everyone. My time coming, I’m still working on myself behind the scenes and still getting ready to tell my story.
But until then, keep your head up and keep grinding.
Final Thoughts & Message:
The biggest concern? Gunther. After retiring legends like John Cena and AJ Styles, you’d think he’d be positioned like an unstoppable final boss. Instead, his direction started to feel…flat. Like the follow-through wasn’t matching the moment.
Wrestling in 2026 feels like it’s in a transitional era. Legends are fading out, new stars are rising, and the industry is trying to figure out its next identity.
And that’s where opportunity lives.
Inspirational Message:
You don’t wait for the spotlight—you become undeniable until it finds you.
Stay consistent. Stay sharp. Study the greats, but don’t copy them—evolve them. Every rep, every idea, every moment of discipline adds up.
Because when your moment comes…
you won’t need to be ready.
You already will be.
