2025 NFL Starting QB Rankings

Check out my 2025 NFL starting QB rankings, led by Patrick Mahomes, who reclaims the top spot with his unmatched postseason brilliance. Lamar Jackson comes in at No. 2 after a dynamic season that reminded everyone why he’s one of the league’s most dangerous playmakers. Josh Allen, the reigning 2024 NFL MVP, holds strong at No. 3 with his explosive arm and athleticism. Joe Burrow remains a steady force in the top tier, while Jalen Hurts surges into the conversation after leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX title. Rankings update weekly—so stay tuned as the season unfolds.

2025 NFL Starting QB Rankings

  1. Patrick Mahomes – The king of the mountain still, whether you like it or not. Let me know when he doesn’t make a Super Bowl.
  2. Lamar Jackson – 4K passing yards and career highs in ANY/A. An absolutely gigantic season and the last hurdle is a Super Bowl.
  3. Josh Allen – Insane season as well. The last hurdle is the same as above.
  4. Joe Burrow – He might have a Super Bowl appearance, and he might put up video game numbers also, but his defense and line are so bad he likely gets unfairly dinged here.
  5. Jalen Hurts – When you play well in two Super Bowls and climb Mt. Mahomes, you are now worthy of the top 5.
  6. Matthew Stafford – Admit it, you need to win one game who do you choose that is left? If it’s not Stafford, you are watching the wrong sport.
  7. Jayden Daniels – No comment.
  8. Justin Herbert – In a different system, he likely has much bigger statistics.
  9. Baker Mayfield – Expect some TD regression, but still a very good QB.
  10. Jared Goff – He has earned to stay here, but we will see post-Ben if he can stay.
  11. CJ Stroud – He may have fallen back a bit, but he still wins playoff games.
  12. Brock Purdy – He is more than a Shanny system QB, but also I think the others all could be good anywhere.
  13. Dak Prescott – Expect a bounce-back season with big numbers from Dak.
  14. Jordan Love – Has gotten a little Cutler-like like but also per EPA, still good.
  15. Aaron Rodgers – Say what you want, he was still very decent down the stretch. I expect one last hurrah for A A Ron.
  16. Kyler Murray – Average gets it done at times. I worry this is just his forever spot. Sort of the purgatory of the position.
  17. Bo Nix – Next best rookie season.
  18. Caleb Williams – It was not a bad rookie season. If you dislike him, you just see it blindly. Ben’s era begins now, I think he moves up.
  19. Drake Maye – Also had a similar rookie season as right above. Expect a bigger season from him as well.
  20. Trevor Lawrence – Stuck in purgatory, but hope is that Liam Coen can finally unlock it all.
  21. JJ McCarthy – Might be aggressive for someone I have never seen play…but KOC turns everything into gold at QB.
  22. Tua Tagovailoa – Here by default, but also can be good when he is healthy.
  23. Geno Smith – Can do much worse. He will be solid at times.
  24. Bryce Young – Very nice second half last year, this one is ascending.
  25. Cam Ward – Never seen him play either, but #1 pick I like a lot.
  26. Michael Penix Jr. – Had a great few games, if he can continue it, he should climb here.
  27. Sam Darnold – Very good 2024, I worry about repeating it.
  28. Justin Fields – Maybe can run for 900 yards.
  29. Joe Flacco – As flaccid as it gets, fun for fantasy early on only.
  30. Russel Wilson – Nope
  31. Colts QB – Meh
  32. Saints QB (whoever it is)
