The 2024 College Football Season will possibly go down as one of the most historic seasons ever, not just because of the premiere of the new 12 Team CFP Bracket, but College Gameday went international for the first time ever in Dublin, Ireland with the Game Of The Week for Week 0 between The #10 Florida State Seminoles & The Georgia Tech Yellowjackets.
In ole fashion, Georgia Tech Kicker Aidan Boyd nails a 44 yard field goal with 5 seconds to go in the game to upset The Seminoles 24-21. This win puts The Jackets not only 1-0 in The ACC Conference, but GT’s first win over a top 10 opponent since 2015 against the exact team they defeated in The Florida State Seminoles.
A successful night for QB Haynes King threw for 146 yards and rushed 54 yards. Jamal Haynes was the leading rusher for The Jackets has he ran for 75 yards and two touchdowns in today’s game.
DJ Viagalelei for The Noles finished the game with 193 passing yards while completing 19-27 passes.
With the new 12 team playoff system, FSU still has chance to run the gauntlet and win The ACC and make a playoff appearance for the first time since The 2014 season. The Noles have a chance to bounce back as they’ll host Boston College for an ACC matchup in their home opener on Labor Day. Georgia Tech with their historic win will host their home opener on Saturday August 31st as they will host Georgia State.
